ABOUT US
WHAT WE DO
We specialize in helping individuals manage and live with mental health challenges, with a particular interest in Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis and Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders (such as Schizoaffective Disorder and Schizophrenia).

Regardless of diagnosis, the goals of therapy are unique to each individual. It may be learning how to accept and manage your illness better. You may want some strategies to manage depression, anxiety, or other sources of stress. You may also want to learn more about the genetic and environmental factors that could cause certain illnesses in the brain. We also work with family members who want to learn more about mental health and how to support their loved one.

We know firsthand the joy of seeing our clients recover from an episode of psychosis, mania, or depression, often coming out stronger on the other side. We want to take the fear out of your recovery journey, and give you the tools to live your life to its fullest.

ASSESSMENT
We do not provide official mental health diagnoses (we would encourage you to see a psychiatrist for this purpose). However, we have extensive experience in screening for a variety of mental health issues, with specific expertise in assessing for psychosis and bipolar disorder. We can help explore your symptoms, discuss how they can affect your life and the true meaning for you going forward.
WHAT ABOUT MEDICATION?
As mental health therapists, we do not prescribe medications, but provide education and encourage individuals to talk to their doctor about their options. We see therapy as an adjunct treatment to medication, not a replacement for it. We also understand that some people choose to discontinue medication treatment, and will support each individual regardless of their perspective.
COLLABORATION
If you already have a doctor, psychiatrist, or mental health team, we encourage open communication and collaboration between health care providers. Ultimately the choice is yours, but it often helps if everyone is working towards the same goal - your mental health!
